Focal Monthly Photography Contest - Feb 09 - Photographic Possibilities

Voting Closed
I shoot my photos in RAW, so the post-processing allows for much more flexibility and detail. I was drawn to these yellow daisies, because they popped so well, in front of that dark, moody background.

Decided to play around with a totally normal pic, and push the limits. I liked this surreal cartoon quality. Hope you do too.

I took this while taking a drive through Zion just before Christmas 2008. It was so beautiful and peaceful that I cousn't help but want to capture every part of it as best as I could.

Full Details

Thanks to everyone who participated in the January contest. Winners will be notified by February 13th.

In 2009, there are new themes, judges, prizes and several new rules. Please visit the The Focal Press Monthly Photography Contest homepage for all of the new rules, 2009 themes, prizes, judges, and a link to all of the 2008 winners.

Focus

The focus of the February contest is PHOTOGRAPHIC POSSIBILITIES, sponsored by Photographic Possibilities, 3e. The theme of "photographic possibilities" is very broad -- the subject of a photograph can be entirely normal, even mundane, but under the right circumstances (light, exposure, lens, filter, processing, software, just nature, etc) makes it look like something else completely or perhaps puts the focus on a startling element of the photograph.
