Skip Pizzi
Skip Pizzi is Director, Digital Strategies at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Previously he has served as Technology Editor at Radio INK magazine, and as a new-media consultant to the broadcast industry worldwide. He also spent 11 years in various positions at Microsoft, initially as Audio Systems Engineer in the Interactive Media Production unit, and more recently as Senior Policy Analyst for the company's Entertainment & Devices Division. Earlier Skip was Technical Editor, Editor and Editor-in-chief at Broadcast Engineering and BE Radio (now Radio) magazines. He began his career at NPR, where he spent 13 years as a broadcast production technician, technical production supervisor and technical director for numerous award-winning programs. He also founded NPR’s technical training program. Skip is a frequent speaker at international conferences on broadcasting, audio and music, and is currently Vice-chair of the Advanced Television Systems Committee’s Technology Group 3 (TG3), which is developing the next generation of digital broadcast television standards. Skip is also a member of the Steering Board of the RadioDNS Project. He holds a B.A. from Georgetown University, where he studied International Economics, Electrical Engineering and Fine Arts.”
